I knew the location of the hotel before I booked but had never stayed. It is very well located but I had hesitated in the past because it is on the opposite side of the River to where most things happen. No need to worry as they run an amazing boat service that literally every 5 minutes drops you either side. They have their own pier lounge, and an agreement and with the Mandarin Oriental. From there it is easy to get transport. Traffic is bad in Bangkok so it is an important consideration when planning how to get places as it often is much quicker to cross the river by boat which takes only minutes.. You must download the App GRAB if you want ease of transport. You can get everything from a motorbike , tuk tuk to a van. It is the Uber to Asia and works well. The hotel itself is very good. Our two rooms were on the 14th floor on the corner. The views were sensational ! I had rung before our arrival and asked we had upper floor views and the hotel kindly obliged. The two rooms almost became like a suite as there was an anti chamber with a main door which was the entrance for both rooms so we could keep our two doors open and still be private. The rooms are lovely and bathrooms excellent. Wardrobe space was a little tight is our room but my children’s room was fine. I used the entrance/ anti chamber for extra space. The hotel itself is very big and as one would expect it has quite a corporate feel in public spaces. Decoration is pleasant but not special . I think a lot more could be done in these areas compared to some newer hotels on the scene. The pool is okay , quite pretty but long and narrow. It always packed and hard to find a bed. I gave up trying but my children went down a few times. Maybe out of the festive period it is better. The breakfast buffet is insanely large. If your a breakfast person this is your place . I travel alot and have never seen a buffet on this scale. I am sure some people eat late here and skip lunch.

Put simply, you would have to be clinically insane to stay anywhere else during your stay in Bangkok. The Peninsula offers what in Europe would be a £1,000+ a night experience for a quarter of the price. The service is the global benchmark of what a five star hotel should represent - timely, personalized attention from each staff member with the urgency and detail as if you were a visiting head of state. The location is unbeatable, the rooms are flawless, the service is incomparable to anything I have ever experienced. After a recent stay at the Peninsula, we returned to Bangkok on our second leg of a trip and decided to try another, well known classic 5-star hotel in the city to see a new area - safe to say I regretted that immediately and is a mistake I will not be repeating.

Incredible luxurious hotel and service, staff actually picked us up from airport then dropped us to our room, where they checked us in, the service in hotel was amazing, the food delicious, the rooms beautiful. Even the view from the toilet, ive never seen a toilet with such a beautiful view. Then they actually dropped us to airport, where three hotel staff greeted us took our passports and luggage and checked us in, gave us our boarding passes and escorted us to security check. I’ve never had such incredible service my whole life

Breakfast ist still outstanding. Thai restaurant serves great thai dishes in wonderful location. Breakfast with highgest quality, all kinds of food, best service! Rooms are still nice but furniture outdated. E.g. plugs for smartphones next to the bed are not existing - this is a no go in our times. Also telephone and electronics very old. Location still perfect and I would say the best in bangkok! pick up and drop off service at the airport (staff even does the check in for you!) is absolutely perfect!

Room and view were awesome, the hotel ferry was very convenient and easy to use. Staff was friendly. Good location next to IconSiam. Also buffet breakfast was great. We received an upgrade which was very nice.
